Tall vase/split series

Turned in 1986 for an article I wrote for Fine Woodworking. The article was published in Sept. 1988.
I was never satisfied with the shape of the piece as originally turned, so after I started splitting pieces I took 3 1/2" out of the center of the piece and laced the two remaining pieces together.
