James Johnson

James is a nationally recognized turner and has been published in the journal of The American Association of Woodturners (AAW) and Fine Woodworking. He is one of the founding members of AAW and the Hill Country Turners (HCT) and the first president of the HCT. James specializes in large thin-walled hollow vessels to which he extends the design by carving or the use of other media. As president of the Shade Tree Engineering Co., he designed and built the lathe he uses to turn his large vessels.
